What is personal? Having a career that you enjoy everyday is very personal, and that's I what I meant by "personal". Some of the qualities of a suitable actuarial candidate are:

• Like math & statistics and be good at it
• Like to analyse and solve problem
• Be good at communication
• Have good business sense
• Possess good computing skills
• Be detail-oriented
• Have leadership skills
• Like to deal with people
  

But there is also the brutal side: you have to stay and study at home (or library) while all your friends are enjoying the summer! Basically, work, study and examinations will be the life style for a newly graduate for at least a couple of years depending on how fast he or she progresses on the examinations.
